Ferguson signs a one year deal with the Adelaide 36ers

2017 NBA Draft Prospect – Terrance Ferguson Signs a 1 year contract with the Adelaide 36ers

Recent USA High School graduate and 2017 NBA draft prospect Terrance Ferguson has just signed a 1 year contract with the Adelaide 36ers. Ferguson from Dallas, Texas is a 6’7” Guard and is just under 190 lbs with a wing span of 6’9.5”.

Ferguson had committed to University of Arizona and was then presented with the opportunity to play in Australian NBL with the Adelaide 36ers. He believes this would be the best pathway for him to develop for his opportunity for the 2017 NBA Draft.

Terrance participated in the McDonalds’s All-American Game and the Nike Hoop Summit representing the USA and assisted his team to win gold in Crete. “It was then at the Nike Hoop Summit when the 36ers approached me. They really liked how I played, and started talking about how they could develop me even further. That’s what really got my attention.”

Terrance recalling the offer from the Adelaide 36ers, “It was intriguing, really intriguing. At first I was going to turn them down, even though it sounded so good. But I wasn’t going to make a decision without my family. My mom, my brother and my sister have been there for me through everything.”

Head Coach Joey Wright said, “I’m extremely excited to have Terrance join our club. Terrance is considered by most NBA scouts as a future lottery pick because of his tenacious defence and accurate shooting ability. Terrance’s athletic ability is by far superior to anything we have seen in a long time.

“I see him fitting right in to our up-tempo offence and leading the charge on our full court pressure. It’s always going to be an adjustment from high school to pro but if anyone can close that gap quickly, it’s this young man.

Adelaide 36ers CEO Guy Hedderwick says, “This is a great acquisition for the 36ers and I am looking forward to his performance in the NBL. He is, by all accounts, a very focused and great young man and I know he will flourish under Joey Wright’s leadership.

“Hopefully he grows as an individual and as part of our team and deliver the excitement and entertainment that Adelaide 36ers fans so enjoy.”

Ferguson says, “And, man, I’m ready. I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready. I’m already getting chills imagining coming through that tunnel, wearing that jersey, hearing the crowd get excited. I can’t wait to show out.

On Twitter, Terrance tweets, “Can’t wait to get my next journey started with @jerome_randle!!! Can the season be here already #36ers”

Jerome Randle tweets back to him, “I feel the same young fella, I’m on straight business…….let’s bring more excitement to the city.”

To prepare himself for the NBL, Terrance says, “I’ve been working out three times a day trying to get my body in shape, pushing myself past my limits. I’m working nonstop on my off-the-dribble game, bringing the ball off screens, honing my one and two-dribble pull-ups, everything that’ll help me be successful in Australia. I can’t be scared, and I’ve got to be prepared.”
