Meanwhile in Greece, Adelaide 36ers guard Nathan Sobey enjoyed a strong finish to his stint with PAOK Thessaloniki earlier this month with local fans calling him the “Aussie Russell Westbrook”Sobey led PAOK into the second round of the GBL playoffs before falling to Aris in the Quarter Finals. Across four playoff appearances, the high-flying guard averaged 15 points per game on close to 44 percent shooting from the field.
“The coaching staff were really good to me and helped me get a lot better,” Sobey reflected.
“It was a great privilege to be able to play for them and for PAOK. It was my first time in Europe as well so it was definitely one to remember.”
Sobey, who recently extended his contract with the 36ers for a further two years, continues to rapidly develop his game. His outstanding play has earned him invitations from multiple NBA teams to participate in free agent mini-camps next month.
