Every season the Adelaide 36ers and the Perth Wildcats compete for the Cup named in honour of both 36ers and Wildcats championship player Martin Cattalini, in one of their regular season fixtures.
The oldest rivalry in NBL’s history honors two players who played for both clubs, Martin Cattalini and Paul Rogers.
The Paul Rogers Medal is awarded to the Most Valuable Player on the court. While the Cattalini cup is held by the winning team.
The tradition first started in 2011 where the 36ers won the initial Cattalini Cup by defeating the Wildcats in Perth 96-84 with 36ers import Diamon Simpson winning the Paul Rogers medal for the best player on the court.
