Hodgson, 23, was born in Booval, Queensland and played college ball at Southern Utah University before transferring to the St Mary’s Gael’s for his final 2 years.
The 211cm centre has signed a two year agreement with the 36ers and is excited to be part of Joey’s roster. “I can’t wait to get to Adelaide and work with Joey.” said Hodgson, “I’m ready to take the next step in my development as a player and I’m sure I’ll learn a lot playing alongside Daniel Johnson and Anthony Petrie.”
A development player with Melbourne United last season, he spent most of the season recovering from a torn meniscus in his knee, but is keen to hit the court running this season.
“Matty is a big body and works very hard defensively, we will look for him to come off the bench and play some important minutes for us” said Joey Wright.
