Adelaide 36ers & XVenture Schools Program
The Adelaide 36ers & XVenture Schools Program is an experiential learning program that focusses on emotional agility, resilience, and leadership. The program aims to equip young people with important life skills to thrive in their life.
The Adelaide 36ers have partnered and codesigned the program with XVenture, an organisation that work with athletes and businesses to create high performing individuals and winning minds. The program has been adapted from an MBA elective course, Leadership and Teams in Action at Macquarie University, that XVenture founder Mike Conway developed.
Mike Conway has been the emotional intelligence, resilience and mental agility coach for many elite sporting teams across the world, most recently for the Socceroos during their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. Mike has also been appointed as the emotional agility and mind coach for the Adelaide 36ers for this coming season. Students will get access to and experience some of the elements Mike will use with the Adelaide 36ers in the school’s program.
The Academy is a 60-hour, South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Stage 1, community developed program that can be facilitated across a semester or a year of learning.
The program takes place in the Adelaide 36ers virtual world campus (learning management system), that provides educators one location for all resources such as lesson plans, videos and reflection tools.
Students also have access to the Adelaide 36ers virtual world campus which allows students to complete all phases and assignment components including physical sessions, reflective assignment, presentation and a personal development plan.
All resources are designed for educators and students for a streamlined and efficient implementation of the program. Educators do not need to create resources for this program. The outline will be provided to interested schools to enable educators the opportunity to integrate this program into their year of learning outcomes for students.
As part of the program teachers are provided the opportunity to participate in a professional development training opportunity hosted by the Adelaide 36ers at the start of the year.
During the program students complete a pre and post program evaluation which measures Emotional Agility, Resilience & Leadership (EARL).
At the successful completion of the program students receive a Certificate in Emotional Agility, Resilience & Leadership (EARL).
