Hyrum Harris said the Adelaide 36ers are eager to bounce back for Daniel Johnson's 400th NBL game on Friday night against the Perth Wildcats.
The 36ers went 1-1 from the past weekend's double header, with a come from behind win over Cairns on Friday before succumbing to Sydney at Qudos Bank Arena on Sunday.
“It sucks losing and to lose like that, but another day, we’ve got to regroup and learn from it and get better every day,” Harris said.
“400 games is a lot of games, we only play 28 in a season.
“I don’t know what the match is, but whatever how many seasons that is, it’s a great achievement and accomplishment.
“He’s one of the best players to pull on a 36ers jersey, so hopefully we can do it for him."
Harris said there's plenty to be learned out of both the Kings loss and the double header experience ahead of another one this weekend, with the 36ers travelling to Melbourne to take on South East Melbourne Phoenix on Sunday.
“I think as an athlete you need to look after your body individually, so you can’t use tiredness as an excuse,” he said.
“It’s more how we learn from the last game."
Perth's Corey Webster hit form against New Zealand in the Wildcats' 92-84 away win and his fellow countryman Harris said they'll need to defend him well.
“He’s a tough guard, I think as a team we need to be locked in defensively, they’ve got a few weapons on that team,” he said.
“It’s on us and how we play."
