Three Adelaide 36ers players will be on the world stage this week during the FIBA World Cup qualifying window.
Captain Mitch McCarron (Australia), centre Kai Sotto (Philippines) and forward Hyrum Harris (New Zealand) will represent their country in different parts of the world.
Sotto will be they key piece to the Philippines side which has two games, both away from Manila, against Jordan on Thursday, before travelling to play Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The Philippines have already qualified for next year’s FIBA World Cup as hosts but Sotto’s side goes into the big clash against Jordan with a point to prove with NBA guard Jordan Clarkson.
Harris will play for the Tall Blacks in their huge clash against Lebanon in Beirut before a 2022 FIBA Asia Cup bronze medal rematch against Jordan.
Both of Jordan’s games are key as they could snap up that last qualification spot left in the group if all the puzzle pieces fall in place.
McCarron will lead the Boomers in their only match of the qualifying window, against Kazakhstan in Astana and Australia will be looking for their ninth straight win in the group stages.
