Adelaide 36ers development player Nick Marshall has continued his fantastic season at NBL1 level as his star continues to rise ahead of the NBL23.
The 198cm swingman was Mount Gambier's best as the Pioneers split their road double in Victoria on the weekend.
Marshall had a game-high 26 points to go with 14 rebounds and four assists in the Pioneers’ 86-79 win against Diamond Valley Eagles at the Diamond Vally Sports & Fitness Centre on Saturday night.
But the Pioneers couldn’t make it a 2-0 weekend, going down 92-79 to Sandringham Sabres at Southern Basketball Stadium on Sunday.
Marshall top scored for Mount Gambier with 28 points to go with his 13 rebounds in the 13-point defeat which puts the Pioneers in second position on the standings with an 11-4 win-loss record.
The Pioneers return home to Mount Gambier on Saturday night to face Nunwading Spectres at The Ice House.
Again without Daniel Johnson, who spent last weekend winning gold for Australia at the 2022 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup in Singapore, Forestville Eagles swept to a 2-0 weekend in NBL1 Central.
Rebounding from a Round 12 loss to South Adelaide, the Eagles had a crushing 108-79 win against the conference-leading Woodville Warriors at Wayville Stadium on Saturday night.
Forestville made it two-from-two at Starplex on Sunday afternoon, defeating Central District Lions 88-74.
The Eagles face West Adelaide Bearcats this Saturday night at Wayville Stadium.

Kyrin Galloway blocked four shots, pulled down eight rebounds and scored six points in Mackay Meteors’ 86-85 NBL1 North loss to Southern District Spartans at Mackay Basketball Stadium.
Missing Mitch McCarron, who is preparing for the Boomers’ FIBA Asia Cup campaign in Indonesia, Northside Wizards went down 93-86 to Gold Coast Rollers at Carrara Stadium.
The Meteors face the Wizards this Saturday night in Mackay.
