The Adelaide 36ers have been recognised for their ongoing commitment to inclusion and community impact with a nomination for a 2026 South Australian Pride Award.
The annual awards are run by Pride Adelaide, a group which supports and celebrates the LGBTQIASB+ community, and recognises leadership, advocacy and meaningful change.
The 36ers have been nominated in the Sport and Recreation category alongside a number of other organisations that do incredible work in that space.
The 36ers’ nomination reflects the club’s continued efforts to foster a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment within basketball from the club’s active participation in Pride Round to broader community engagement initiatives.
This recognition also builds on the club’s strong recent history in LGBTQIASB+ advocacy, including the leadership and visibility of players such as co-captain Isaac Humphries, whose courage and openness have helped drive important conversations across the sport.
Adelaide 36ers Chief of External Relations & Community Strategy, Ross Wait, said the nomination is a proud moment for the club.
“This nomination is a reflection of the work our club, players and staff have committed to in creating an inclusive environment for everyone,” Mr Wait said.
“We see basketball as a vehicle for connection, and being recognised in this space reinforces that we’re making a meaningful difference.
“It’s something our entire 36ers family can be proud of, but we know there is always more to be done.”
With public voting now open until April 12, the club is encouraging members, fans and the broader South Australian community to get behind the nomination and show their support.

The awards will be announced at an event at Sky City Adelaide on June 6.
