Zylan Cheatham has re-signed with the Adelaide 36ers for two more years

The Adelaide 36ers are pleased to announce the re-signing of dynamic import Zylan Cheatham for two more seasons, securing one of the standout performers of the NBL26 campaign so far.

Cheatham has been a driving force in Adelaide’s strong start, averaging 12.3 points, 10 rebounds and 4.1 while providing the versatility and energy that has become a trademark of his game.

His impact at both ends of the floor has been matched by his presence in the locker room, quickly establishing himself as a leader within the playing group.

General Manager of Basketball Operations Matt Weston said Cheatham’s re-signing reflects the club’s commitment to cultural stability and high performance.

“Zylan has been exceptional for us - on and off the court,” Weston said.

“His professionalism sets the standard, his energy lifts everyone around him, and his leadership has been critical to the strong foundations we’ve built this season.

“He is a competitor and an excellent character to have around the club so we’re thrilled to be able to retain him for another two seasons.”

Cheatham said the decision to continue his time with the 36ers was an easy one, citing both the team environment and his experience living in Adelaide with his partner and young child.

“I’m really happy with how the season has started, but even more than that, I’m grateful for how welcomed my family and I have been,” Cheatham said.

“Adelaide has quickly felt like home. The fans, my teammates, the coaching staff - everyone has made this experience special.

“There’s a real belief within this group, and I’m excited to keep building something meaningful here.”

Cheatham’s re-signing provides a welcome boost for the club ahead of its game against Cairns on Wednesday.
