The Adelaide 36ers are excited to announce the signing of American guard John Jenkins for the remainder of the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season.
A proven scorer with experience at the highest level, Jenkins brings elite shooting ability and leadership to the 36ers roster.
Selected in the 2012 NBA Draft at pick 23 by the Atlanta Hawks, the Vanderbilt University product played for the Hawks, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards and New York Knicks across six years in the NBA.
Known for his ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting, Jenkins averaged 5.0 points per game while shooting 36.7 per-cent from beyond the arc.
In addition to his 171-game NBA tenure, Jenkins has represented the USA national team on ten occasions, including last year when he was part of the AmeriCup Qualifying team that played against Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

The 34-year-old has had stints in China, Israel, Spain, France and Puerto Rico, and most recently has been playing in Romania’s top division where he averaged 23.8 points per game for CS Valcea 1924.
General Manager of Basketball Operations Matt Weston welcomed Jenkins to the club and emphasised the value he will bring.
“We’re thrilled to have John join the 36ers,” Weston said.
“He’s a player with elite shooting ability and a lot of experience in competitive environments around the world.
“His ability to stretch defences and create for himself and others gives our offence another dimension.
“We look forward to integrating John into our system as we chase success through the back end of NBL26.”
Jenkins is expected to join the group in Perth for the HoopsFest game against South East Melbourne on Sunday.
