Flynn Cameron will suit up for the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Summer League

Adelaide 36ers guard Flynn Cameron has earned an opportunity to showcase his talents on the global stage, signing to play NBA Summer League with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The New Zealand-born guard enjoyed a breakout NBL26 campaign with the 36ers, establishing himself as one of the competition’s most improved players and a key contributor in Adelaide’s run to the Championship Series.

In his first season with the 36ers, Cameron averaged 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, while playing an important role on both ends of the floor. His outstanding development throughout the season was recognised when he was named the NBL26 Most Improved Player. Cameron has also represented the New Zealand Tall Blacks at international level and continues to strengthen his reputation as one of the region’s emerging basketball talents.

Adelaide 36ers General Manager of Basketball Operations Matt Weston said Cameron’s Summer League opportunity was a reward for the hard work he had put in to improve himself.

“Flynn’s growth over a relatively short period in the NBL has been outstanding,” Weston said. “He has embraced every challenge, continued to improve his game year after year and established himself as an important player in our program.

“His NBL26 season was a reflection of the work he has put in behind the scenes. To see him recognised as the league’s Most Improved Player and now earn an NBA Summer League opportunity is thoroughly deserved.

“We’re incredibly proud of Flynn and excited to see him test himself at the next level. As a club, we fully support him in pursuing this opportunity and we look forward to following his progress throughout the Summer League.”

Cameron joined Adelaide on a three-season contract ahead of NBL26 after beginning his NBL career with Melbourne United.

The 2026 NBA Summer League will be played in Las Vegas and is scheduled to begin on July 9.
