“I’d like for us to still be wearing that if I’m honest with you. That logo, that uniform, is very, very good memories.”

Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis and club Hall of Fame legend Brett Maher went down memory lane on Thursday when they saw the NBL24 anniversary round jerseys for the first time.

The club will honour the 25-year anniversary of the 1998/99 NBL championship by wearing the iconic home uniform against Melbourne United at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on January 6.

Ninnis said the uniform and the logo always will have a special place in his heart.

“Look, that jersey brings a smile to my face,” Ninnis said on Thursday.

“That was an incredible time in the club’s history.”

Ninnis, the only person to be involved in all four of the club’s NBL championship wins, also floated an idea of bringing back the state colours on a more permanent basis.

“I’d like for us to still be wearing that if I’m honest with you,” Ninnis said.

“That logo, that uniform, is very, very good memories.”

The entire 1998/99 roster will be at the game on January 6 and Adelaide 36ers Hall of Fame legend Brett Maher said to bring back the uniform and logo is significant.

“It’s a special moment in our history and the club’s history and to have the whole team here is going to be very special,” Maher said.

“To see the old uniform running around again, the old pinstripes and the awesome logo, it all has a very special place in our hearts.”
