Adelaide 36ers import power forward Jacob Wiley has said his side is using the FIBA international break as time to reset and focus on the next crucial part of the NBL24 campaign.
The 36ers have a 13-day break between games, but the team is treating training as normal and Wiley said the time spent on court as a team will increase cohesion moving forward.
“At this point in the season it’s a great opportunity to get out there and get some more work in, try to right some of our wrongs in the previous games,” Wiley said.
“We have had a lot of guys out this year, with injuries, with illness, we haven’t had a full squad hardly ever this season.
“To have most of our guys here training is a great bonus for us.”

Wiley had praise for head coach CJ Bruton, who has been taking the playing group through tough, physical training sessions throughout the FIBA break.
“He is pushing us to get better every day and that’s what we want and that’s what we need,” Wiley said.
“I think this is going to show, game by game, after this break.”
Adelaide face a tough road double af the FIBA international break, travelling to New Zealand to play the Breakers next Thursday, before a trip to Tasmania for a battle with the JackJumpers just 48 hours later.
“Huge, two great, physical, well-coached teams, two teams we have already faced this season, so we have a good feel for them,” Wiley said.
“But, every game is huge for us at this point, especially on the road in New Zealand, that is a big one for us, we want to start this trip on the right way.”
The 203cm livewire forward said the race to the NBL Play-In is heating up and the race for the top six is gaining momentum.
“Everybody wants to make that top six and you’re going to see a lot of shuffling in the next month or two,” Wiley said.
“But, for us it about one game at a time, you can’t just say we are going to win a bunch of games.
“For us, it’s about focusing on that next game.”
