Franks has sights set on Suns, Thunder

Adelaide 36ers star Robert Franks said he and his teammates are approaching the NBL x NBA clashes with Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns as if its round one and two.

The 36ers are currently in the United States preparing to take on the Suns on Monday and Franks is itching to get involved.

“For guys like me that have played in the NBA and had a little stint, you can go prove who you are and show what you can do on the bigger stage,” Franks told FiveAA’s Rowey & Timmy G.

“But most importantly, we’re building for the season.

“We’re approaching this as if it’s our round one and two.”

Fresh from the NBL Blitz win, Franks said he’s enjoying life with the 36ers.

“It’s been awesome ever since I got here,” he said.

“The energy, the comradery, the competitiveness in practice is translating into game.

“It’s been amazing so far.

“It was good being in the pre-season and having those close games is good, it shows what type of identity your team is and that you guys can get gritty and fight through adversity.”

Franks also had high praise for coach CJ Bruton describing him as the ‘perfect coach’.

“He’s been amazing,” he said.

“He gets the ins and outs and still has the edge about him to get on you and hold you accountable.”
