How many players?

If you had to guess how many players had represented the Adelaide 36ers in their 43-year history, what would you say? 150? Maybe 250?
Well, we’ve done the work, and the official number of players to have pulled on the 36ers jersey for at least one game is 239.
As a nod to the club’s history and with the support of NBL statistician Greg Eppelstun, Adelaide 36ers Media has compiled a complete list of players to play for the 36ers since the club was formed as the Adelaide City Eagles in 1982.
Listed in order from most games played to the fewest, the table does not include those who have been part of the club’s playing roster but never hit the court in an official NBL game, though that is not to gloss over the impact they have had on the club’s history.
The list also only includes games played for the 36ers, not for other NBL teams.
There are no prizes for guessing who is at the top of the list. With his 524 games, inaugural Hall of Fame inductee, former captain and six-time club MVP Brett Maher rules the roost.
The three-time NBL Championship winner (1998, 1999 and 2002) remains comfortably in front of fellow Hall of Famer Mark Davis (481 games) and long-time fan favourite Daniel Johnson (366) with Mike McKay (290) and Paul Rees (262) rounding out the top five.
Of the current squad, Isaac Humphries on 83 games across his two stints at the 36ers has the most games, with DJ Vasiljevic next best on 49.
