Returning Adelaide 36ers big man Isaac Humphries said he’s ecstatic to be back in South Australia after a year in Melbourne.
Humphries attended a school holiday clinic at the Springbank Secondary School on Wednesday and was overwhelmed by the support from the young fans.
“I love the city and always did when I was here,” he said.
“I have a great relationship with CJ (Bruton) and Sunday (Dech) is one of my best friends in life.
“I think as an athlete, you go to all these different areas and teams, but the idea of coming back to a team where I know the city and how it was ran just made a lot of sense to me.
“I honestly couldn’t be more excited to be back and I can’t wait to play at the AEC again and in front of all the fans.
“I can’t wait to run out on that arena and be surrounded by the Sixers fans.”
Even with his stint with Melbourne United, 36ers fans still roamed home games with Humphries jerseys, and he said it’s meant a lot.
“It’s awesome, I have a lot of friends still in the town and they still tell me there’s a few jerseys running around,” he said.
“It makes me feel good coming back and hopefully there’s more [jerseys] to come.”
Humphries added he’s feeling confident in his body and the club’s NBL24 roster.

“I’m very confident, I got through my year last year pretty much injury free,” he said.
“I think I have a lot of ingredients for a really good season.
“It’s shaped up to be a really good roster.
“I’m excited, a few of my old teammates from other teams are coming back, and Jason Cadee and I had a great on and off court relationship while at Sydney.”
