The Adelaide 36ers have confirmed the signing of talented local teenager Deng Manyang as a development player for NBL26.
Manyang is a mobile, athletic forward who has been impressing with Trinity College and the Central District Lions in the NBL1 Central.
Last September, the 6’7” 17-year-old helped guide the Lions to the inaugural Under-18 Club Championship title in Perth.
He also caught the eye at the Adelaide 36ers Development Player (DP) camp in May.
“Deng really impressed us with his athleticism and versatility,” said 36ers Head Coach Mike Wells.
“While he’s still young, he is already performing at a high level in the NBL1 with Central District.
“We think he’s got a lot of upside and we’re looking forward to helping him develop in our program.”
Manyang is currently averaging 11 points and five rebounds per game for the top of the table Central District.
The 36ers must sign at least two development players for NBL26 but can take as many as four.
To be eligible for a DP spot, players must be aged 24 years or younger for the duration of the NBL26 season.
A decision on further signings will be announced in coming weeks.
Current 36ers Isaac White, Michael Harris and Keanu Rasmussen have come through the DP pathway.
