McCarron helped build the buffer, making a three-point shot early in the first quarter to help the Boomers build momentum.
Iran came back into the contest in the second quarter, outscoring the Boomers 14-15, and again in the third 24-28.
Yet, Australia would put the foot down, extending its seven-point lead at the end of the third, outscoring Iran 33-10 in the last.
McCarron finished the game with six points, three rebounds and two assists.
