Adelaide 36ers captain Mitch McCarron has led from the front in the Boomers’ opening 78-60 win against Jordan in the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup in Indonesia.
McCarron, who was named Boomers captain before the tournament in the absence of Matthew Dellavedova, scored seven points, dished four assists and grabbed three rebounds.
The Boomers were at their dominant best in the opening 20 minutes, but dropped off in the third stanza to give Jordan a chance with a quarter to play.
A great start for defending #FIBAAsiaCup champions 🇦🇺 Australia, who took down Jordan to begin their campaign in Jakarta!

Australia didn’t bring the same intensity after the interval, turning the ball over and taking some questionable shots at the offensive end.
Jordan cut the Boomers’ lead to 15 points after restricting the Boomers to only eight points in the third quarter.
The Boomers responded in the final quarter and will now focus on their next match, against Saudi Arabia on Thursday.
