Moving forward key to success: McCarron

Adelaide 36ers captain Mitch McCarron is excited for the prospect of a double header at the Entertainment Centre, rather than lamenting on results in the past.
McCarron said his side is looking ahead to Saturday night’s crunch clash against Brisbane Bullets as an opportunity to get back on track.
“It’s a year where you have to process and move on and learn from the previous game,” McCarron said.
“If you hang onto that too long and carry that into future games, it’s not going to help you moving forward.”
The 189cm guard said the league can turn quickly, with several results changing the standings each weekend.
“It’s not the results we wanted (last round) but looking forward it’s an opportunity to get two big wins this weekend which would put us back to 8-8,” McCarron said.
“We have seen teams have really bad losses then come back and have really good wins.”
“If you can put two or three (wins) together, you’re looking pretty good right now.
“But for us, it’s about getting one done, then we will move on from that.”
McCarron said the team has highlighted some areas where there has to be improvement.
“It’s all about us playing better basketball, we haven’t been executing properly, we have patches,” McCarron said.
“Unfortunately, teams go on runs and we have been unable to combat it.
“We have been getting some really good contributions and we have been having some really good periods, it’s just not consistent enough to win a game right now.”
The search for a third import continues, but McCarron said the side is good enough to be winning while the decision is still being made.
“We have plenty of talent in the room to get wins, does a third import help us? For sure,” he said.
“If he is the right guy and he is super-talented and comes in a kills it right away then great.
“But the group here believes we have enough here to win games. We just have to play the right way.
“I think we are trying to make the right decision about who we bring in and we have got faith that is going to be the right guy, but I’ve got no gossip for you.”
