Kai Sotto’s dreams of making the NBA are improving after several workouts with teams across the league this week.
The 218cm centre has worked out with Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz so far and Sotto is now on his way to New York for a trial with the Knicks.
According to Heavy Sports, Sotto will fly to New York next week to stake his claim along with other training hopefuls with the prospect of making a Summer League roster.
Sotto’s agent Tony Ronzone told PlayItRight with Quinito Henson the Filipino sensation is in the US and trailing with several teams.
“He’s going through the process right now of introducing himself to NBA teams and coaches,” Ronzone said.
“He’s competing against other players that are hungry to get an opportunity to play in the Summer League and get an opportunity to make a roster.”

The 2023 year has been extremely busy Sotto, who joined the Hiroshima Dragonflies in the Japan B League after the completion of the NBL23 season.
Sotto has also be included in the Gilas Filipinas’ 21-man squad for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
The 21-year-old believes there won’t be any conflict with his commitments coming up, especially with the World Cup to be played in his home nation.
“The Summer League won’t be a conflict in terms of scheduling. It [Summer League] finishes in mid-July and the World Cup is at the end of August. I think there will be time,” Sotto said.
