NBL21 Fixture Update

The NBL has released a revised schedule for the first two rounds of the 2020-21 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season, which will now see the Adelaide 36ers season tip-off at home on Saturday, 16 January against the South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Across the first two rounds, the Adelaide 36ers will play three games, all in front of home crowds at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The revised schedule is the first release of what will be a rolling schedule for the NBL21 season, providing the NBL flexibility as it manages the current and any future state border closures and restrictions.  

Chairman Grant Kelley is part of the NBL’s Return to Competition Taskforce alongside NBL owner Larry Kestelman and Melbourne United part owner Craig Hutchinson.

Grant said, “We want to thank our players, staff, officials, members and corporate partners for their outstanding support and patience in what is going to be an unexpected and unprecedented season.”

“We can’t wait for the Adelaide 36ers and our new Coach Conner Henry to hit the court and play in front of crowds on Saturday, 16 January. We promise our members, partners and fans will get world-class basketball and great entertainment over the coming months.”

“The revised schedule gives the Adelaide 36ers and the other Australian based NBL clubs the best opportunity to play their 14 home games across the season and to be part of the NBL Cup in Melbourne starting on February 20 which will see all nine teams playing 36 games across four weeks.”

“The Adelaide 36ers along with the NBL will continue to work closely and be guided by the advice of the relevant health authorities to ensure the safety of all players, staff, officials and the fans who are all our number one priority.” Kelley concluded.

The regular season is expected to finish in May ahead of the finals with capacities at venues varying according to locations.

Hungry Jack’s NBL21 games will be broadcast live on SBS, ESPN and SKY Sports (NZ).
