Parker's dribble raises money for great cause

Parker Foot has again dribbled his day away for charity and had the help from two Adelaide 36ers superstars at Urrbrae Agricultural High School on Tuesday.
Braving the 40-degree temperatures inside the school gym, Parker dribbled the basketball for six hours to raise money for Parkinson’s Disease with the help of club partner The Hospital Research Foundation.
“I did it last year and it was really fun, so I decided to do it again this year,” Parker said.
“It’s pretty hot and I’ve had to train for this, it was hard when I was training but it felt really good when I finished.”
Parker was joined by Mitch McCarron and Sunday Dech for part of his six-hour journey, which was one of the highlights of the day.
“It really has helped me a lot (to have Mitch and Sunday here) and we have been talking a lot, about school and basketball,” Parker said.
“I can’t to watch Sunday Dech play for South Sudan at the Olympics.”
McCarron said he was inspired to see Parker complete his dribble challenge for the second straight year.
“He is doing an awesome job, Parker is beyond his years,” McCarron said.
“His energy and his effort for other people, raising money for Parkinson’s, it’s awesome.

“If he can do it, we are glad to be involved and get to do this with him because he’s doing it all day, I don’t think I could do that.”
Parker said he is hoping to donate over $2000 and has already raised over $1000.
