South Australia’s peak body for the building and construction industry, Master Builders SA, has renewed its partnership with the Adelaide 36ers.
The Sixers will be hoping for a big win against the Southeast Melbourne Phoenix on October 16, but that won’t be the only event under the spotlight at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
It will also be the Master Builders SA Born to Build Tradie Round - a celebration of the MBA’s most successful and exciting career pathway programs for apprentices.
The Tradie Round made its debut last season to a resounding success, with many people seeing the synergies between being in a team and being fit with the physical fitness and teamwork associated with many fast-growing trades.
The Master Builders SA Born to Build Tradie Round is also proudly supported by Sterling Homes and SGP Civil.
Master Builders SA is the State’s largest industry association, offering training, support and rewarding careers for hundreds of apprentices to help fill the critical skills shortage in the building and construction industry.

After the success of last season’s partnership, 36ers CEO Nic Barbato was thrilled to have Master Builders SA come on board again.
“Last year we saw how important this round could be in terms of connecting young basketball fans with pathways to meaningful and secure work in a huge growth industry,” Mr Barbato said.
“There are a lot of similarities between sport and the building and construction industries.
“As well as the need to be physically and mentally fit like basketballers, trade workers need practice to perfect their craft, and they can do that through an MBA apprenticeship.
“We take great pride in supporting the call for people to take up careers in an industry that is crucial for the future growth of South Australia.”
Master Builders SA Chief Executive Officer Will Frogley was proud of the ongoing affiliation with the Adelaide 36ers.
“Like the Sixers, our organisation wants the best for our members, so we provide ongoing training and mentorship because we want them to succeed,” Mr Frogley said.
“The building and construction industry is booming, but we need thousands of more tradies to meet demand so whether you’re fresh out of school or considering switching career paths, Master Builders is hiring now.
“Just like a great basketball game starts with practice, every great career in a trade starts with an apprenticeship and through Born to Build we make it easy to get one.
“A trade apprenticeship is your chance to rise above the rest and score big.”
Born to Build is a joint initiative between Master Builders SA and the South Australian Government, to deliver the next generation of tradies.
