'We have stuck to the process': Cadee

Adelaide 36ers guard Jason Cadee said he is proud how his side has “stuck to the process” on the back of consecutive victories for the first time this NBL24 season.

Cadee, who iced the game last Thursday night in Auckland against New Zealand with a clutch steal and three-point play, said the 36ers are trending in the right direction.

“We have been getting better since the pre-season, it didn’t lead to wins straight away, but we stuck with the process knowing that a win would come and we have been able to win three of our last four,” Cadee told media on Tuesday.

“We have seen in results now that we have found some rhythm as a group, but again you have to keep doing that night in, night out.

“We understood where we were at, we knew we were behind the eight ball at the start of the year and some things had to play out.

“But, to get a bit of a reward to see once we got through that patch, t’s actually led to results, and we are doing the right thing.”

Adelaide will travel to Perth for a second time in the opening month of the NBL24 season this weekend for a Saturday night showdown with the Wildcats.

Cadee said the 36ers have the focus to not only quell in influence of the Wildcats’ key gamebreakers, but also ways Adelaide can exploit the Perth game plan.

“Perth, they are a tough line-up, every time you come up against a Bryce Cotton with a Keanu Pinder and co,” Cadee said.

“Yes, we pay attention to what other teams are doing and we go through scouts, but it’s what we can do, and we want to play a way that we know can help us be in a position to win games.

“We go to Perth knowing how tough they are at home and knowing what kind of a line-up they have.

“In this league you cant have any nights off, if you have a night off, you will lose, so there is every part of us which needs to be ready.”

Cadee was with teammates at St Mary’s Memorial Primary School on Tuesday as part of the K-Mart Game Time program.

“It’s awesome, when you can come out and be in the community, especially in the schools with the excitement in the environment,” Cadee said.

“As you can it’s fun for us, it’s fun for them, and hopefully some of the kids can become 36ers or Lightning players.”

NBL Next Star Trentyn Flowers quickly became the king of the kids and Cadee said the 206cm phenom is perfect role model.

“Having played in these for almost 10 years now, Trentyn Flowers is the perfect guy for these games,” Cadee said.

“His athleticism is non-stop and he’s a little kid, like the rest of them.

“It’s really good to watch, and he just needs to do this every week now for both our games and these games.”
