Thoughout the season he averaged 10 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. Born in Alice Springs, McCarron played US College basketball with the Metro State Roadrunners for three seasons, where he was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Player of the Year in 2015. Following college, he played in the Spanish League with Palencia Baloncesto before returning home to Australia in 2016 to join the Cairns Taipans. Mitch will bring leadership, decision making and a winner’s perspective and culture to our Club. Welcome Macca!” Adelaide 36ers Chairman, Grant Kelley, said, “Mitch is considered one of the best local players in the league and was a highly sought-after player in free agency, we are thrilled he chose to join the Adelaide 36ers. We look forward to welcoming him to Adelaide and introducing him to our members and fans.” General Manager of Basketball Jeff Van Groningen welcomes McCarron to the Sixers, “Mitch is a key addition to our roster. He’s a leader and a winner and we are grateful he’s chosen to lock in with us for the next three seasons”.
