Adelaide 36ers NBL24 Development Player Harvey White will take his talents to the US after agreeing to a four-year scholarship with Colorado Mesa University.
White will leave for Colorado this week where he will link up with former Adelaide 36ers head Mike Dunlap, who has joined the Mavericks program in April this year.
The 186cm point guard said his decision to go down the college path was a difficult one after spending NBL24 with the 36ers.
“I wasn’t really sure, I was pretty tied up with staying (at the 36ers) or heading over (to college) but it was going to be go to this school, or stay home,” White said this week.
“There were no other schools I was considering, the coach Mike Dunlap, he is really well respected, he was the main reason I’m going over there.”
White said coach Dunlap reached out during the NBL1 Central season, where he made the move from Sturt Sabres to Southern Tigers for greater opportunities.
“He found me through all his connections in Adelaide and Australia, it’s going to be awesome playing for him, it’s super exciting,” White said.
The NBL24 Development Player has starred for the Tigers in 2024, 36ers assistant coach Michael Lake, who is head coach at Southern, giving the point guard the keys to his side.
“Going to Tigers this year has been awesome for me,” White said.
“After spending all of last NBL season on the training track, I improved my game so much, so going there, getting to start and getting to show off my improvement was really good.”

White has averaged 14.9 points, 4.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game for the Tigers across the 2024 season.
“I was super pumped to go out there and play for Lakey, who has been a big part of my career,” White said.
“It was just a great season to go out there and play my game and show how your game goes up against the best players.”
White said he can't wait to start college life, especially under the tutelage of Dunlap.
“It’s awesome, great school, great coach, great program, I’m definitely blessed to get a scholarship and to go over there, super humbling and a great opportunity," White said.
"I think it will be a really good life experience as well as all the basketball."
