New Adelaide 36ers signing Jacob Wiley has already had a taste of NBL24 while playing in Puerto Rico this off-season.

Wiley said his side Vaqueros de Bayamon have had fierce matches against former 36er Mitch Creek’s Mets de Guaynabo.

“We have been battling here man, me and Creeky,” Wiley said after he signed to return to Adelaide for the NBL24 season.

“There was wars every time we played each other this past season.

“My team won three times, and his team won three times.”

The 203cm forward ironically replaced Creek at the 36ers for his one and only NBL season to date in 2018/19.

“I replaced Creeky when I was in Adelaide last time, it’s crazy,” Wiley said.

“Mitch and I have become really close.

“No doubt, the battles will continue on into this season.”

Adelaide’s first pre-season match is against Creek’s South East Melbourne Phoenix in Mount Gambier on Friday, September 1.
