The Adelaide 36ers have signed their first development player for NBL27 with the addition of talented guard Deonte Williams.
Williams is a 6’6 guard who joins the 36ers program following a strong season in NBL1 East with the Bankstown Bruins, where he has established himself as one of the competition’s leading performers.
The 22-year-old is currently averaging 20.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game for the Bruins, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

Prior to returning to Australia, Williams spent time in the US college system, most recently playing at Georgia Southwestern State Hurricanes men's basketball, where he was named Peach Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year following a dominant defensive campaign.
Williams also gained NCAA Division I experience with the Sacramento State Hornets men's basketball, competing against some of the top collegiate programs in the country.
“Deonte is a player we’ve been tracking through his performances in Australia and his time in the US college system,” said 36ers General Manager of Basketball Operations, Matt Weston.

“His defensive ability really stood out to us. Being recognised as the Peach Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Year highlights the impact he can have on that end of the floor, but he’s also shown the ability to be a productive player offensively.
"He’s a competitive guard who plays with great energy - at 6'6 with a 6'10 reach, he'll cause havoc on defence. He also gives us more length, which is what we wanted to address this off season"
Williams will join the Adelaide 36ers as the club’s first development player signing ahead of the NBL27 season.
