Adelaide 36ers are thrilled to announce the club will be delivering a community engagement program for the Defence Community of South Australia.
This program encompasses a variety of important benefits for the Defence community that include school and holiday programs and opportunities to attend home games.
Sunday afternoon’s home game against Illawarra Hawks is Defence Force Appreciation Round as the club celebrates Remembrance Day.
Adelaide 36ers GM of Social Impact and Community Ross Wait said the opportunity plays an important role to the club’s engagement strategy.

“We understand the sacrifices Defence personnel make to serve and protect our nation and the impact that this has on Defence families across the community,” Wait said.
“Through this partnership, we hope to build great relationships across the Defence community, and we want to create a program that the community enjoy and all stakeholders are proud of for many years to come.”
The Defence Community engagement program was made possible after the club received Defence Community Grant funding from Defence Member and Family Support, a branch of the Commonwealth Department of Defence.
The school program, which will be offered to 16 Defence mentor schools within South Australia and will be delivered by 36ers staff and players, is focused on health, wellbeing, resilience and leadership.
“As a club we are delighted to have the ability to make a difference in the community and through our partnership with the Department of Defence and the Defence community,” Wait said.
