The Adelaide 36ers have used World Teachers' Day to launch a new Teacher Ambassador Program to celebrate, reward and recognise the impact of educators on the club’s community programs.
Open to teachers from both primary and secondary schools, the Teacher Ambassador Program is about highlighting the value educators have in the community and rewarding them for their contribution to growing the programs run by the club’s not-for-profit community arm Shooting Hoops.
The program is aimed at engaging teachers who are passionate about promoting Shooting Hoops’ key vision of inspiring positive social change through basketball and giving young people the skills to be able to thrive in life.
Adelaide 36ers General Manager of Social Impact and Community, Ross Wait said Australia's opportunity to celebrate World Teachers' Day was the perfect time to launch the initiative.
“Teachers inspire, support, and empower children and young people every day, and they play such an important role in the programs we run through Shooting Hoops,” said Mr Wait.
“We want our educators to know we are grateful for all they do to share important messages about health and wellbeing, inclusion, leadership and resilience.
“We can’t run our programs and make the impact we do without their support, so this is our way of giving back.”

Teachers who register for free will commit to playing a key role in promoting the Adelaide 36ers and their educational programs within their school community and receive rewards in return.
Those rewards include an ambassador merchandise pack, discount in the 36ers shop, an invitation to teacher professional development events, priority access to school programs that the club runs and chances to win double passes to 36ers games.
