Adelaide swingman Anthony Drmic is embracing his new lease of life in his second stint at the 36ers.
Drmic, who returned to Adelaide in the off-season after spending the past two NBL season at the Bullets in Brisbane, said a new approach has been key to his success so far in NBL23.
“Honestly, it’s come down to a mindest of not caring and just coming out and playing as hard as I can and doing the little things like I have my whole career,” Drmic said.
“Not worrying about how much I’m playing but how hard I’m playing.”
The 198cm guard/forward has played a number of different roles for head coach CJ Bruton so far in NBL23 and he said the side is embracing the team first attitude.
“With the next man mentality, we just have a great bunch of people on the team,” Drmic said.
“Everyone is willing to make sacrifices, everyone is stepping up right now.”
Drmic had 11 points and 11 rebounds in the 87-84 win against Brisbane Bullets on Thursday night as part of the starting line-up, but he has also had the same effect coming off the bench as well.
“We talk about our bench being one of the best in the league, I feel like having the guys to sacrifice or step up,” Drmic said.
“I feel like the things I’m doing is contributing to the team.”
