Flowers signs with LA Clippers

Adelaide 36ers NBL24 Next Star Trentyn Flowers has signed with Los Angeles Clippers as an undrafted free agent.

Flowers joins the Clippers after spending the NBL24 season as a Next Star in Adelaide, where he averaged 5.2 points, 2.9 rebounds across 18 games for the 36ers.

The 203cm swingman, who scored 23 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter, to lead the 36ers victory against Illawarra Hawks last October, was excited for the opportunity to join the Clippers after speaking to the NBA franchise.

“I’m feeling amazing, I’m here with all my family right now,” Flowers said on the phone call to Clippers management.

“This moment is priceless; I wouldn’t trade this for the world.

“I’m blessed, I can’t wait to get to work.”

Los Angeles Clippers head coach Ty Lue spoke to Flowers on the phone, and he was thrilled with what the Next Star has to offer.

“This is a great opportunity, and we are happy to have you, we are excited,” Lue said.

The 203cm swingman broke the max vertical leap record and was one of the big winners at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine, leading all forwards and finished among the top four in the standing vertical leap.

Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis said Flowers had grown across his NBL24 campaign and is excited to see what is next for the Next Star sensation.

“Trentyn is a tremendous athlete and I can’t wait to see him grow as a basketball player,” Ninnis said.

“He has that rare talent and the potential to be great in the big league.”

Flowers was aiming to become the fourth Adelaide 36ers player to be selected in the NBA Draft after Terrance Ferguson (2017), Josh Giddey (2021) and Mojave King (2023).
