Adelaide 36er Craig Randall II said a keen focus on trust and relaxation was the key to his game-winning fourth quarter avalanche which sunk Illawarra Hawks 90-80 at the Entertainment Centre on Saturday night.
Randall II swished 17 of his game-high 28 points in the final 10 minutes as the 36ers fought back from a two-point three-quarter time deficit to claim their first win of the NBL23 season.
“Today I trusted what my teammates were doing and drawing up in the offense and it just came like that,” Randall II said.
“We are really dangerous because on any given night it can be any of us, tonight it was just my night.”
Adelaide coach CJ Bruton knows what Randall II can bring to his side and was pleased to see him shine.
“He’s a big time player, he made big time shots and he can take a game over and close a game out as well,” Bruton said.
The 193cm shooting guard said he will continue to learn everyday as the new-look roster continues to grow.
“It’s early, I’m just trusting what coach has me doing, trusting my teammates,” Randall II said.
“I had a good game bit I had five turnovers, so I’ll go watch film and adjust to that.
“Five turnovers and four assists, he (Bruton) probably doesn’t like that either, but I definitely got my feet under me and I just relaxed a little bit today and the results came out good.”
