Adelaide 36ers boom off-season recruit Robert Franks can’t wait for the NBL23 season to start and let his basketball do all the talking.
After an off-season which saw head coach CJ Bruton land one of his main recruiting targets, Franks spent the NBA Summer League with Boston Celtics before exploring his playing options in Europe.
“It was more so on the business side of things, an opportunity in Europe came up and it was close to happening,” Franks said.
“But for all good reasons, I am here so that’s in the rear view.
“I’m excited for the upcoming season in Adelaide.”

Franks said the lure to come to Adelaide was too good to refuse after his initial chats with Bruton.
“When CJ called me, he gave me that pitch of me coming in, elevating my game, elevating the players around me and building something special,” he said.
“It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”
The 201cm power forward joins reigning Defensive Player of the Year Antonius Cleveland and Franks said the opportunity to get to play with a great mate had a big role to play in his decision.
“It’s a cherry on top (the Cleveland signing). We have been close friends before this,” Franks said.
“We just complement each other. He’s a great player, he won defensive player of the year last year so I feel like me and him on both sides of the ball will complement each other all year long.”
Franks hit the training court on Monday after arriving in Adelaide on Sunday.
