The Adelaide 36ers are proud to announce KickStart For Kids as an official Charity Partner for the NBL 21 season, dedicating their home game on Tuesday 4 May against Cairns Taipans to raising awareness, funds and donations of clothing for their upcoming Camp KickStart.
KickStart For Kids is a not-for-profit organisation that helps disadvantaged school children in South Australia achieve positive educational outcomes and increased self-esteem through school breakfast and lunch programs, mentoring programs and our Camp KickStart school holiday care program.
Today, KickStart For Kids supports over 350 South Australian Schools, provides around 50,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches per week, and is supported by over 600 volunteers.
KickStart For Kids is a charity that Adelaide 36ers Guard Sunday Dech holds near his heart.
“I am excited to get behind KickStart for Kids I think every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential in school without worrying where their next meal is coming from. They have helped countless kids through South Australia and it is privilege to partner with them,” Dech said.
“We encourage the South Australian community to donate and support KickStart For Kids in any way possible,” Dech continued.
Adelaide 36ers Jack McVeigh also expresses his support for the charity. “Working with KickStart for Kids is a real privilege that is bigger than the game of basketball. They positively impact thousands of kids’ lives in South Australia. It’s an honour to have KickStart for Kids and the Adelaide 36ers working together.”
KickStart For Kids CEO Ian Steel said, “we are asking members and fans that come to the game to dig deep in their pockets or bring clothing donations for the vulnerable kids – we need socks, underwear, long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies or any article of clothing that we often take for granted,” Ian says.
There will be donation bins around the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, as well as a clothing drive, The Adelaide 36ers x KickStart For Kids home game on Tuesday 4 May will also give fans and members an opportunity to give cashless donations.
