Adelaide swingman Nick Marshall can’t wait to run out onto the court in Mount Gambier in the 36ers colours.
Marshall was “pumped” to hear the news Adelaide 36ers will battle South East Melbourne at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre on Friday, September 1.
“It’s going to be so cool, it’s a great atmosphere playing on the court out there,” Marshall said.
“The crowd are up and about all the time, it’s going to be awesome.
“It’s going to be kind of cool to know I’m going to be running out on the court in a 36ers uniform in front of everyone.”
The 198cm guard/forward, who has played for Mount Gambier Pioneers in the NBL1 South competition for the past three seasons, knows he’s going to play tour guide for the pre-season trip.
“I’m looking forward to that, everyone is coming to my hometown,” Marshall said.

“Everyone on the team will get the chance to see where I have been playing in the off-season.”
After stunning NBA franchise Phoenix Suns 134-124 last pre-season and playing against his idol Devin Booker, Marshall said playing in Mount Gambier was the next best thing.
“It’s not the Footprint Center, but it’s very cool to play an NBL game in a town that is so special to me and my career,” Marshall said.
With the Pioneers on charge towards the NBL1 South playoffs with Marshall pouring in 23.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists per night, he said the news of the pre-season game is another big boost to the local community.
“This is going to be a sell out for sure, we go close to selling out our home games now, so there’s no doubt tickets will be tough to get for this one,
“When the 36ers come to town, it’s going to be a pretty big deal, especially for all the kids.”
