Honour, pride and representation of culture is key for the 36ers when Adelaide host Cairns Taipans in NBL25 Indigenous Round at the Entertainment Centre on Friday night.
Adelaide will be playing in the special NBL25 Indigenous Round uniforms, designed by Mali Isabel, which swingman Sunday Dech and captain DJ Vasiljevic can’t wait to play in.
“It’s always an honour to represent Indigenous Round and having local artists in Adelaide put this together for us is special and we are very proud to wear it,” Dech said.

“The message this sends, recognising the Indigenous culture, the Kaurna people, we play on their lands, it’s important to acknowledge that, to be able to represent them and hopefully come away with a win.
“Indigenous culture is something we want to celebrate and something we want to recognize and to have artists showcase their talents on our uniforms and to represent us, Adelaide and South Australia is something really important.”
Vasiljevic said the jersey design and the entire Indigenous Round is something the NBL has made really special.
“The jerseys look really cool, and you play and represent the people and the land you play on, the Kaurna people, it’s just a special moment,” Vasiljevic said.
“I’m especially looking forward to the Welcome to Country from Tim Graham, who is a good friend of mine.
“It’s just special round and I like what the NBL has done and it’s only going to get bigger and better.”
