Iconic 1998/99 NBL championship jersey is back for Sunday afternoon's home game against New Zealand on Brett Maher Court

Adelaide 36ers will be going back to 1999 again on Brett Maher Court on Sunday afternoon for the NBL24 season finale against New Zealand Breakers.

The popular jersey will make another return with both players and fans thrilled by the iconic look and the traditional pinstripes will be back at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Adelaide 36ers head coach Scott Ninnis is excited the club will be wearing the iconic jersey again, after his side has worn the uniform three times so far this season, for three victories.

“That jersey and that logo bring back so many special memories,” Ninnis said.

“All the guys love it; they want to wear it all the time.”

Adelaide 36ers CEO Nic Barbato said the reactions after the club wore the jerseys to celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the 1998/99 NBL championship has been fantastic.

“The response to the anniversary jersey was so popular we have decided to bring it back whenever we could for the rest of the season,” Barbato said.

The 36ers are a perfect 3-0 when wearing the iconic look this season, which started with a 100-96 win against Melbourne United on January 6, where the club celebrated the 25-year anniversary of the 1998/99 NBL championship.

Since that night, the 36ers have worn the jersey for two wins against Sydney Kings, a 95-82 success on January 11 and an 85-78 win on February 2.
