Adelaide 36ers head coach Mike Wells said his team is prepared for an opening round battle against Sydney Kings on Sunday at HoopsFest in Perth.
After going 3-1 in the pre-season, Wells said the new-look 36ers roster has embraced the process of a new system.
“We want to obviously be unselfish and that encompasses a lot of different things,” Wells said.
“How we play, how hard we play and the attention to detail and that can show in many different ways, whether that’s making a pass or an extra, extra pass or defensive play.
“That’s what we like to do as a team that everybody here in Adelaide is proud of.”

Wells said the competition at practice has been encouraging and he likes his team to play on the edge, which is required to play at NBL level.
“What we are trying to do is to get iron to sharpen iron, you’re trying to get guys to compete at the highest level,” Wells said.
“It’s always been a process, us learning to play together at different stages of their professional career.
“We are all here, we all have Sixers on our chest, what we want to do is come together as a group, we want to be harden by competition like this.
“You want to get it to a game type competition as you can (at training).”
Playing against a Kings outfit which has been touted as one of the sides to beat in NBL25, Wells said his group is ready for the challenge.
“The group to me has been extremely coachable, it’s been a really good blend of veterans, our new players and our imports and we are moving forward,” Wells said.
“We understand the pressure, the pressure is there to win and we understand our job, and it starts on Sunday.
“As we ramp it up at practice and we want to get right to the line.
“Every practice or game you want to finish better than you started.”
