The Adelaide 36ers have unveiled a bold new jersey, to be worn when the club celebrates Indigenous Round against the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday, November 7.
Created by proud Ngarrindjeri, Kokatha and Warlpiri artist Stephanie Singh-Highfold, the striking design celebrates the Adelaide 36ers’ connection to its people, community and home.
Set against a black background, the artwork centres around the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, with the club’s colours flowing through the stadium and connecting the players and coach surrounding it.
Encircling the centre are U-shaped figures representing the club’s staff, volunteers, members, fans and the broader South Australian community, united by their support for the 36ers.

A magpie features prominently as a guardian of the land, while elements extending from the central design connect the club to its past, including previous venues and the journey of its members towards their new home.
Five U-shaped figures along the base honour the club’s legends, whose jersey numbers have been retired and continue to watch over the 36ers.
Blue leaves surrounding the artwork represent healing and strength, while a trail of white dots flowing towards the centre symbolises the club’s journey, achievements and enduring connection to Kaurna land.

Ms Singh-Highfold is the owner of Nabanunga – Contemporary Aboriginal Art, named after the skin name she received while living in Ali Curung, north of Alice Springs, where she spent part of her upbringing after being born in Alice Springs.
She says it means a lot to her and her family to know her artwork will be seen by so many people.
“As a proud Ngarrindjeri, Kokatha, Warlpiri woman, having the opportunity to share a piece of my culture, stories and identity on such a large platform is incredibly special,” said Ms Singh-Highfold.
“Art has always been an important way for me to share stories, celebrate culture, and connect with people.
“Having the chance to design the Adelaide 36ers Indigenous Round jersey was an incredible opportunity to bring those passions together.
“It was a privilege to create something that honours Aboriginal culture while also reflecting the strong sense of community and pride that the club represents.”

Through Nabanunga and her art, Ms Singh-Highfold celebrates First Nations people and culture, using her work as a way to share stories and contribute to the ongoing journey towards Reconciliation in Australia.
“My art is a way of telling stories and creating connections,” she explained.
“A lot of my work is inspired by Country, Family and Community.
“Through symbols, line work and dots, I share stories that have meaning and invite people to learn, reflect and connect.
“For me, art is not only a form of self-expression, but also a way of preserving and celebrating my culture.”
The jerseys are on sale now at the Adelaide 36ers Store, 215 Port Road, Hindmarsh or online.
