Having only one game for the next three rounds is a welcome change for Adelaide 36ers head coach CJ Bruton as he looks to build chemistry and culture within his new-look roster.
Adelaide has already played seven games this NBL24 season and with 25 per cent of the regular season already gone with a 2-5 win-loss record, Bruton is happy to change his focus.
“(One game per round) always helps, anytime you bring in a new player, we can build culture, build the chemistry of the group,” Bruton said.

“We need to continue to grow and build stronger, together and work out who we are and what we are about and how we are going to attack certain teams.
“The more time you have for that rather than playing two games and travelling across the country, it makes it difficult.
“It’s all about who can adapt and adjust and get across the line.”
The 36ers travel to New Zealand on Wednesday for a Thursday night showdown with the Breakers hoping to make it consecutive wins after last Saturday night’s 89-78 success against Perth Wildcats.
Bruton said he is looking forward his side to continue to become a bigger threat from the three-point line, especially with the recent signing of two-time NBL championship winner DJ Vasiljevic.
“We got to keep working on it,” Bruton said.
“You got to take the open shots, and some contested shots and it’s all about putting guys I the right spot to go do it.
“It’s not like we don’t work on it and I actually think we have done a good job of holding teams from the three-point line.
“While we haven’t made as much as I would’ve liked, we have got guys who will shoot it and shoot it with confidence.”
Adelaide play New Zealand at Spark Arena from 5pm ACDT on Thursday night and you can watch all the action live and exclusive on ESPN via Kayo Sports.
