Adelaide 36ers boom recruit Antonius Cleveland is ready to get to work and says he can improve on his award-winning NBL22 season.
The 198cm swingman, who arrived in Adelaide on Tuesday with fiancée Yamoine Jenkins and children Ky and Khari, said he now knows what to expect coming back to the NBL for a second season.
“Getting use to the ball and the three-point line, my second year around appreciating how physical it is, I just feel like I’ll have a better year after getting adjusted and being familiar with everything,” Cleveland said
The reigning NBL Defensive Player of the Year said he prides himself to lead the new-look roster.
“It’s a mentality and being where I’m from growing up, you don’t want to get scored on,” Cleveland said.
“I enjoy it and with Sunday (Dech) and Mitch (McCarron), I can help those guys on the perimeter and be a great defensive team.”

Cleveland said Bruton’s style of game was a big reason for his move to Adelaide.
“The roster, I was intrigued by it and I want to be part of something special here,” he said.
“How CJ wanted to play and how he also like my game and his vision of the season coming up.
“He wants to play fast and defend and just have fun.
“I can pretty much fall right into what he wanted to do, I just felt like it was a perfect match.”
