Star big man Isaac Humphries has said a players meeting last Friday was the spark for Saturday night’s 89-78 win against Perth Wildcats at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
Humphries was a force inside at both ends of the court against the Wildcats. Leading Adelaide to a second victory of the NBL24 season.
“We met as a playing group yesterday (Friday) and talked through a lot of stuff and we just wanted to come out today and put all of that into action,” Humphries said post-match.
“We executed what the coaches needed from us tonight and we wanted to execute what we wanted as a playing group as well.”

The 211cm centre said the 36ers and himself had to respond from last Thursday night’s home loss to South East Melbourne Phoenix.
“Thursday wasn’t a great night for any of us,” Humphries said.
“I walked away from that game not happy with myself and how the team played.
“I just wanted to come out tonight and make a difference everywhere I could.
“It just happened on both ends of the floor and yeah it just happened.”
Humphries scored a game-high 26 points, hauled in eight rebounds and grabbed three steals against the Wildcats and was thrilled with the team’s response.
“Very pleased, one thing is our lulls we have been having during the game and we needed a method to cut those lulls down and work through them,” Humphries said.
“We identified tonight we were going down that path and we turned it around pretty quickly.
“I was very proud of the boys for seeing that in the moment. Then we just kept going and going.
“Those moments and chats are important, but it’s more fulfilling when we put it into practice and have each other’s backs and do exactly what we say for each other.”
