Antonius Cleveland is ready and raring to go after he and his teammates landed in Phoenix, Arizona ahead of the NBL x NBA clashes.
First, the Adelaide 36ers will take on Overtime Elite tomorrow before tackling the Phoenix Suns on Monday (ACST).
The 36ers were straight into training, and Cleveland was keen to get moving after a lengthy plane ride.
“I think it’s good to get off the plane and get our bodies moving,” he said.
“I’ll be pumped tomorrow and hope we can get off to a good start, I think we can go 3-0, just like we did in Darwin.
However, on the flight over, Cleveland unfortunately hurt his eye while his daughter was on his lap.
“My baby girl had a drink menu on the plane, she was on my lap and started going crazy with it, and boom, corner of the book hit me in the eye,” he said.
“Yesterday was rough, but I’m feeling a little better.”
Cleveland has had NBA stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks and has been giving some advice to his younger teammates.
“I think it’s dope, it’s good, just let them play their game, they put their jerseys on just like us,” he said.
“But also live in the moment, a lot of people never get to experience it.”
