New Adelaide 36ers off-season signing Jason Cadee has continued to show his impressive NBL1 form with a 40-point game last Friday night.
Fresh off his NBL1 North Player of the Week award last round, Cadee continued his red hot form for the Gold Coast Rollers, pouring in a game-high 42 points to go with 10 rebounds and eight assists in his side’s 97-82 win against Cairns Marlins.
Trailing by three points at three quarter time, Cadee put the Rollers on his back as Gold Coast stormed home in a 34-16 avalanche to claim the 15-point success.
The 186cm point guard was on target from beyond the arc, connecting on seven of his 11 three-point attempts and was a near perfect nine from 10 from the free throw line.
Kyrin Galloway sat out Ipswich Force’s tough 99-94 home success against Townsville Heat on Friday night.
Galloway has had surgery on his thumb and is due back on court within the next month.
Gold Coast travel to face Southern District Spartans next round, while the Force are also on the road against Red City Roar.
In NBL1 South action, swingman Nick Marshall again was one of the main reasons Mount Gambier Pioneers continued their perfect start to the 2023 season.
Marshall scored 20 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished seven assists as the Pioneers made it a 5-0 start to their 2023 campaign with a 106-82 win against Keilor Thunder on their home floor.
All of Marshall’s 12 rebounds were at the defensive end as the home side consolidated a comfortable home victory on the back of a 29-15 final term charge.
Mount Gambier are back on the new home court at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre next Saturday night when they host Ringwood Hawks.
