No time to panic says McCarron

Adelaide 36ers captain Mitch McCarron says his side is not pushing the panic button despite losing both games this weekend.
McCarron said NBL23 can put up some indifferent results and the unexpected nature of the season is good for the competition.
“It’s a wild league right now, it’s really hard to win at home, for whatever reason, teams are going away and getting smacked and then turnaround a beat a team had a really good win the day before,” McCarron said after the 36ers’ 103-98 overtime loss to South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena on Sunday afternoon.
“For us though, it’s about consistency, finding an identity offensively, finding identity defensively, then we have had our struggles on defense but it’s going to take time, we are not losing patience with it, it’s a crazy league.
“It’s no point losing our minds now, we are 2-3, Tassie were 0-3 and everyone was talking about how they were doing, then they go on a four-game streak and are the best team in the league.
“Things can change, we just have to work on them.”
McCarron said his side had the opportunities to win the game against the Phoenix, but will look back at some missed chances late.
“We had some pretty good shots at the rim. I smoked one, DJ missed one, and we had a couple miss some good jumpers,” McCarron said.
“All in all we were a little bit stagnant, whether you put that down to fatigue, or whether you out that down to Phoenix defense, not too sure.
“Everyone was into getting into middle ball screen and working off of that.”
