Adelaide 36ers centre Kai Sotto is pumped for his first trip to Darwin as his side prepares for the NBL Blitz in the Northern Territory.
Sotto impressed in the first pre-season hit out against the Perth Wildcats on Friday with 11 points and 11 rebounds and said he's itching for the three NBL Blitz games.
“I’m very excited, it’s my first time in Darwin,” he said.
“It’s going to be fun, we have a pretty fun team, so I’m exciting for this upcoming NBL Blitz.”
Sotto added some of his teammates have been in his ear about what Darwin is like.
“They said it’s hotter than Adelaide, I love the cold,” he said.
“From where I grew up it’s hot.
“I love travelling and this trip to Darwin is going to be fun.
“They said there’s some crocodiles there, so something to look out for.”
The 36ers will take on South East Melbourne Phoenix, Tasmania JackJumpers and Illawarra Hawks in the NBL Blitz, and Sotto said all will have their challenges.
“All will be challenging, our main focus this pre-season is ourselves to continue on developing and working with each other,” he said.
“This Blitz we’re going to push ourselves and you can expect our maximum effort and continue on improving.”
