Adelaide 36ers import Ian Clark said the team needs to find ways to 'finish the games the right way' following the 83-86 loss to Cairns.
Clark hit a late three to give the 36ers back the lead before the Taipans took the win in the sunny state.
Post-game, Clark said it was a tough pill to swallow.
"It's tough honestly, at the same time we can't hang our heads," he said.
"Since I've been here, it's only been three games, and we've had the lead both games and we need to find ways we finish games the right way.
"This one hurt tonight as we were on a roll and we were gaining ground and building blocks to be the team that can put teams away, but we let them back in tonight.
"Credit to them, they kept fighting and won the game."
Clark said there's still things the team can take out of the loss.
"Obviously want to win every game, but I think for myself and the guys in the locker room want to keep getting better each game," he said.
"Even though it's a loss, we can still learn from it, go watch film and start the new year off the way we want."
